Why do people even care enough? It's a dollar! Who said they have to spend it? If it's against their religion to use a stupid coin that doesn't say "In God We Trust", they can give them to me.
I think the new money design is well warranted. The whole, "In God We Trust" slogan was originally made up to differentiate us from the so called "godless communists." That era is definitely over, and I think it's time for the true meaning of separation from religion from state.
Money isn't any exception, and you can't mindfully make the excuse that the term "god" is referring to the figurehead of any religion. It was intended to refer to the fact that Christianity is most dominant religion in the U.S..
Christians can be proud that they dominate a large part United States society, but that doesn't mean that our money has to broadcast that.

Hah, that seems like a bit of an overreaction.. If/when they stop putting "In God We Trust" on all US currency, are some people going to boycott money altogther, stop spending it and become homeless?

That's stupid. I mean...IT'S MONEY. WHY WOULDN'T ANYONE WANT TO SPEND MONEY. LOL. That was a HUGE overreaction. People these days are missing something in the brain. lol.

Money is money. Also, I thought church and state was separate. On the other hand, when was it ever separate. Either way it goes, if I get one back from a cashier, I'm going to use it for its purpose.
Ok this isnt really a big deal but I always would prefer dollar bills instead of coins. For one I would even to remember something like this because i would be so amazed and paying attention to the coin not even caring if it fake or not.If it's some money i really need i would ask the person that gave it to me for paper money. I feel there is no need to boycott about this type of thing because there is way more important thing than this that need the urge of attention for a boycott!!!
