BLOG ASSIGNMENT - WEEK OF 9/17
Okay ladies and gents. This week I would like for your blogs to focus on analyzing texts that are on similar subjects. For each of this week's entries, choose articles from at least two, and no more than four, of the publications or blogs listed under "On-Line Texts" and "Blogs of Note." The articles must be on similar, or even identical subjects or themes. They do not have to be in conflict with each other.

In your entries:
- describe, very briefly, the topic of the articles,
- describe the stance of the authors toward the subject,
- SHOW, through direct examples, how the authors tell you what their stances are - this step will entail your identification of the TOOLS of the writer. Some, but not all, of the tools of the writer are alliteration, metaphorical language, interesting structure, etc. Remember that each of these tools is like a hammer, that is, it is not a thing unto itself, but is a kinetic instrument. Any of these tools only matters if it is employed to illustrate the author's point.
- do not forget that you are to engage with the authors: disagree, agree, question, etc.
- use appropriate language, grammar and punctuation (and PLEASE utilize what you know about paragraphing and spacing between paragraphs!) to make your point.
